Child protection in a context of educational digitalization

The project
In recent years, there have been significant changes in the educational field resulting from the forced acceleration of digitalization in schools following the global COVID-19 pandemic. In order to respond to the continuity of schooling and promote the development of digital education, it was decided to incorporate large technology corporations into the educational context. The integration of digital technologies in education, especially the digital platforms used in teaching and learning processes, represents a challenge for educational systems around the world, particularly with regard to guaranteeing the protection of children in these new digital contexts.
The project is divided into four phases, which will be executed between 2023 and 2026.
Identification and analysis of regulations, visions and knowledge on the use of digital platforms in education and on the management of data derived from their use in primary education
10 semi-structured interviews with experts
Development of 11 case studies in schools
Implementation of surveys for teachers and families
Dissemination of research results, development of policy and educational suggestions and return to participating centres
The project is made up of three Spanish universities, from Catalonia, Castilla-La Mancha and the Valencian Community.
Articles, conference presentations, public appearances and everything that the project is generating.
